Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) |
How do you fix areas of recurring peeling? |
Seal the surface so that no water can enter (using caulk or even adding metal flashing), then prime and paint with quality product. Areas that cannot be sealed (deck joists, decks, e.g.) should be stained.

How can I achieve the look of paint without having to deal with peeling in the future?
Solid-color acrylic stains. These can give a pigmented finish, without the large peeling and paint failure issues. Not only can these stains allow the natural wood grain to show through, but they can also be very effective on previously oiled structures that may be prone to peeling if painted. See our staining section. |
